05 NIGHTS – 06 DAYS LEH PROGRAM
VISITING LEH – NUBRA – PANGONG - LEH

01: Arrive Leh 

Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the Hotel.  Time free to acclimatize till 4 O’clock. 

 

Evening walk upto Samker Gompa. Samker Gompa is little up in the valley, 3 Kms from Leh Town, which is open to visitors in the morning and evening only. The Gompa belongs to Yellow Sect & was founded in the 18th Century. The Gompa is the seat of the Head Lama of Ladakh & founder of the yellow sect, Tson-Kha-Pa. The temple walls have recent paintings of figures including Sakyamuni, Avalokiteshwara, Padmasambhava, Tson-Ka-pa and green Tara.

02: Leh – Sham Valley - Leh                                                                                          

After breakfast, proceed for sightseeing on the Leh – Srinagar Highway. Visit the Hall of Fame (A Museum developed by the Indian Army), Kali Mata Temple & Gurudwara Patthar Sahib (A Gurudwara constructed & maintained by the Indian Army). 

 

Proceed further and experience the effects of Magnetic Hill (Defiance of the law of gravity wherein a vehicle starts climbing up the hill when put in a neutral position) and admire the confluence of holy Indus & Zanskar. Return to Leh for an overnight stay

03:  Leh – Nubra Via Khardungla (150 Kms/06 Hrs)

After early breakfast  Leave Leh for a trip to NUBRA VALLEY passing through Horzey & Gangles Village.  The road then rises to reach Khardung La (5602 Mts.) the world's highest Motor able road & enjoy the landscape & the beautiful birds eye view of the Leh town.  

 

Halt for a break at Khardungla village + Another 35 Kms drive takes to Khalsar at Shyok Valley, where the scenery is all around.

 

The road after crossing Khalsar Bridge at Shyok River enters Nubra Valley & then proceeds along the Nubra River to arrive in Nubra.

 

Dinner and overnight at the Camp. 

 

04: Nubra – Pangong (165 Kms/07 Hrs)                                                                                      

After early breakfast leave for Pangong. Lake through Changla passes 5486 Mtrs. While ascending Changla pass 5486 Mtrs. Enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the villages below the pass.  After crossing the pass halt for break at Tsoltak, the summer pastureland of the yaks. 

 

Arrive Durbuk and from there a short drive takes you to the western shore of the lake. Enjoy the landscape in the backdrop of the Lake. This famous blue brackish Lake of Pangong is 5/6 Kms wide and over 144 Kms long with half of it running the other side of the "INDO CHINA BORDER ''. One rarely feels so close to nature and environment and the scenery is unforgettable.

05: Pangong – Leh 

Breakfast at the Camp. Drive back the same route for Leh. On arrival in Leh, check in at the Hotel Leh  Afternoon Free to explore surroundings of Leh.

06: Depart Leh 

Early morning Breakfast at the hotel. 

 

In time transfer to Leh Airport to connect the flight for onward destination.

06 NIGHTS / 07 DAYS PROGRAM VISITING
LEH – NUBRA – PANGONG -LEH

01: Arrive Leh 

Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to the Hotel.

04:  Nubra – Turtuk – Nubra (150 Kms/06 Hrs) 

After breakfast  same day excursion to Turtuk Village. This pristine village on the border towards Pakistan was once a part of Pakistan and later annexed by India. 



 

Turtuk is known for its scenic beauty and for its different and unique Balti culture. We will drive back to Hunder in the evening. 

 

Dinner and overnight stay in Nubra. 

 

05: Nubra – Pangong (165 Kms/07 Hrs)

Breakfast at the Camp. Drive back the same route for Leh. On arrival in Leh, check in at the Hotel.  Afternoon free for independent activities.

07 NIGHTS / 08 DAYS PROGRAM VISITING
LEH – NUBRA – PANGONG - LEH

01: Arrival at Leh (3505 meters/11567 feet above sea level) 

On arrival at Kushok Bakula airport Leh - 3500m above sea level you will be transferred to the hotel by our representative.  On arrival check-in at the hotel. 

 

Rest of the day for acclimatization. Evening drive to visit Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist white-domed Stupa on a hilltop in Changspa, It was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist Bhikshu, Gyomyo Nakamura and part of the Peace Pagoda mission. Later visit Leh Palace. In the evening, I walk around the local market.

02 : Leh - Sham Valley - Leh

Day start with Hall of Fame, which was constructed by the Indian Army to commemorate the sacrifice of soldiers during Indo-Pak wars , Kali Mata Temple, followed by Spituk Gompa - an 11th century structure , Next on the list of attractions is the majestic Gurudwara Patthar Sahib. 

Nestled deep in the Himalayas, it was constructed by the Lamas of Leh in 1517 to honour the visit of Guru Nanak Dev - the founder of the Sikh faith. Drive another few km to witness the magic of Magnetic Hill that defies the law of gravity. It has been noticed that when a vehicle is parked on neutral gear on this metallic road, it seems to slide up and further. Driving through a picturesque landscape, we reach the confluence of the Indus and Zanskar River. Proceed back to Hotel vai same route.

03: Leh to Nubra via Khardungla Pass–18,380Ft/5550Mtrs.(125Kms/05-06  Hrs) 

Morning drive to Nubra valley, driving over the highest motored pass in the world. The exciting journey through serpentine roads leads you to the Khardungla Pass at an awesome height of 5550 meters. We stop at the pass to admire and click some photographs of the fantastic view. 

 

The valley is situated on an old caravan route at the confluence of the Shayok and the Nubra rivers. On the way visit the charming valley of Deskit – the tiny capital of Nubra. We will visit the Deskit Gompa, perched on a rocky spur above the village, with a commanding view of the entire valley. At Deskit Monastery you will visit 106-feet high statue of Maitreya Buddha atop the hill. 

 

The monastery has intriguing images of many deities. From Deskit we will drive to Hunder past an area of sand dunes and get acquainted with the famous Bactrian camels, small population of shaggy double-humped animals, which in the old days, were used as pack animals on the Central Asian Trade routes are now used as riding animals in the high deserts. We will ride the double hump camel at hunder on a direct payment basis. In the evening we will drive back to the camp/hotel.

04 : Nubra - Excursion to Turtuk – Nubra.

One of the most fascinating journeys in Ladakh is a less popular destination recently opened for tourists, if you have a thirst for a beautiful location this is the place. En-route spectacular mountain ranges and Villages like. This region is controlled mainly by the Ladakh Scouts, a rear department of the India Army. 

 

A border village that was recaptured by the Indian Army in 1971. Locals have relatives across the border (Line of Control) and depend mainly on farming of vegetables, apricot besides providing mules and porters. Baltistan a beautiful village with charming people "On the night of December 13, 1971, the people of this village went to sleep in Pakistan.


 

The next morning, they woke up in India." We are in Turtuk, listening to a villager recount the history of this remote northwest corner of Ladakh, which until that night was part of Baltistan in PoK. A full day rough excursion and evening back to Nubra Valley. 

 

Overnight in a camp/hotel at Nubra.

 

05 : Nubra to Pangong Lake via Shayok (165 Kms/05 – 06 hrs)

After breakfast at camp/hotel we drive to our next destination Pangong Lake (situated at 14, 500 ft above sea level) via Shayok and onto Tang Tse and Spangmik (Pangong). It’s a short cut and it's a beautiful route.

 

The road follows the Shayok river, and climbs up a mountain before finally descending into Shayok village. It takes less than an hour to reach Shayok, and you will be delighted at the sight of the rather big village surrounded by barren mountains, the entire setting being very picturesque. Afternoon we reach Pangong Lake and enjoy your day at Pangong Lake.

06 : Pangong to Leh via Changla Pass - 5486 Mtrs. (160 Kms/05 – 06 Hrs)

Get up early in the morning to witness the sunrise view at the lake. Enjoy your breakfast and drive back to Leh via Changla Pass 5486 Mtrs. 


 

Arrive Leh and check in at the hotel. Evening free for shopping or leisure. 

 

Dinner & overnight stay at Hotel.

 

07 : Leh 

Full day Leisure// Shopping// Walking along the market side.

 

08 : Depart Leh 

On time drop at Leh Airport and fly back to your own destination with beautiful memories.
